Perhaps more popularly known as rehab centers, residential treatment centers are set up across the country in order to provide support for residents living with a variety of health concerns. Residential treatment programs promote addiction and substance abuse recovery and address other behavioral and mental health issues. Residents of these treatment programs benefit from a stable, stress-free environment, and they are often further aided in the healing process when they leave the center through outpatient services. These therapeutic facilities are staffed day and night by trained health care professionals.
Although rehab centers are widely known for their effective treatment of drug and alcohol abuse, the centers also provide support for individuals with a number of other mental health and behavioral issues. Issues such as posttraumatic stress, disordered eating, bipolar, depression, and anxiety are addressed through a variety of treatment centers. People with depression symptoms may seek out a facility that specializes in the treatment of depression, where they can receive individual attention and personalized care. Additionally, residents are able to learn more about their mental health conditions via individual and group therapy sessions, as well as through informal, social interactions with other residents who experience depression.
