A crucial aspect of mental health care is residential treatment. Often referred to as rehab centers, these facilities are coordinated and monitored by mental health professionals and provide inpatient and outpatient treatment for a variety of mental health conditions and their physical symptoms.
Rehabilitation centers have produced positive results in the treatment of addiction recovery and behavioral issues sometimes where other treatment options have not been successful. Drug rehab and alcohol rehab centers, for example, ensure that at-risk residents receive effective drug addiction treatment and alcoholism treatment that addresses the behavioral and emotional aspects of addiction in an environment free from the stress of daily life.
In addition to drug and alcohol abuse, rehab centers also offer care to individuals with other mental health concerns. A number of these facilities address specific conditions such as depression, anxiety, and compulsive gambling.
