Critical Incident Response for First Responders Police Athletic League - 7259 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707 April 20-21, 2020 - 8 am - 3 pm Instructed by: Harold Bozeman and Dennis Carradin Day one will equip attendees with the essential skills needed for Critical Incident Response. The workshop will teach you how to effectively manage Individuals in crisis and how to provide effective peer support to your fellow first responders. Day two will provide insight and understanding of the different types of stress in public safety culture and how our stresses differ from, and are experienced differently than, those in the civilian world. It will provide practical information for providing crisis intervention support to first responder organizations and individuals experiencing a crisis. $140 / person Register by April 18, 2020

Dennis J. Carradin, Jr. Licensed Professional Counselor, LPCMH, NCC, BCETS Diplomate, American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress Dennis is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health, a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress, and a Diplomate for the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. Currently, he is the Executive Director of New Perspectives, Inc., a private counseling agency in Delaware, and served on the faculty of Penn State University, Brandywine Campus, for 15 years. He is a Vice President and Principal Consultant for SSC Consulting. Dennis is a trained trainer for Crisis Care Network. He is the Founder and CEO of the Trauma Survivors Foundation. He serves on three international trauma firms. Dennis is a former Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician and a former Emergency Medical Technician with the state of Delaware. He is a former volunteer Fire Fighter. Dennis serves as a LAST member for the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation in conjunction with the National Fire Academy. He is the clinical director and team coordinator of the New Castle, Kent, and Sussex County CISM teams as well as the Wilmington Police and New Castle County Police CISM teams, the AI DuPont CISM team, and the State of Delaware CISM team. Dennis is the State CISM Chairman for the Delaware Volunteer Fireman's Association. He is the President of the Wilmington West Rotary Club. He is listed in the National Center for Crisis Management?s directory of expert witnesses and premiere speakers bureau. He has attended Millersville University, Temple University, and Walden University. Dennis has conducted numerous debriefings in domestic as well as international disasters, shootings, bombings, bank robberies, corporate incidents, school disasters, and Fire, EMS, Police tragedies including, but not limited to, the attacks on the WTC in NYC, the Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Sandy relief efforts, the Sandy Hook Elementary School Shootings, the Boston Marathon Bombings, the DC Navy Yard shootings, the Paramus Park mall shootings, the Pulse Night Club shooting, the Hurricane Harvey Relief efforts, the Annapolis shootings, and Las Vegas shootings.

HAROLD BOZEMAN Harold Bozeman is a sworn member of the Wilmington Police Department since Sept 30, 1996 and was promoted to Sgt. Feb 22, 2013. He currently serves as the team and training coordinator for the WPD CISM team and is a long-time volunteer with the New Castle County Public Safety CISM team. Harold is a negotiator and team leader with the Wilmington Police Crisis Management / Hostage Negotiations Team since April 2012 and Team Leader / Supervisor Wilmington Police Honor Guard In March 2013, He was appointed to serve as the team and training coordinator for the Wilmington PD Crisis Intervention Team. His team is currently staffed by 14 members. After completing his initial CIT training he was invited to sit on the Law Enforcement Advisory Board at NAMI DE and the State of Delaware CIT training committee. Harold is a COPT Certified Police Instructor and has been developing and presenting various curricula, to include CISM, weapons of mass destruction response, hostage negotiations, and incident response to terrorist bombings for the Wilmington Police Academy since 2005. He is an instructor for the Office of Domestic Preparedness, certified through the New Mexico Institute for Science and Technology and Louisiana State University, to present their material for Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings, Law Enforcement Protective Measures, Law Enforcement Response to WMD Incidents, and Prevention and Response to Suicide Bombing Incidents. Harold is a certified Field Training Officer, trained through Pennsylvania State University. He attended the Penn State Police Officer Supervisor Initial Training and the FBI's Law Enforcement Executive Development Academy for Police Supervisors as well as their Command Leadership School. He has been on the FOP Lodge #1 board of directors since August 2008 and was elected President of the Lodge in October 2013. His primary job is supervisor to the Business Improvement Districts patrol unit, a nine-officer team counting myself. In that capacity he provides safety training and talks to members of the business community and sit on the Security Managers Boards for the Downtown Wilmington Business Improvement District and the Riverfront Wilmington Business Improvement District. Harold has been honored with the following: Four Distinguished Service awards (WPD) Three Outstanding Service awards (WPD) Two Merit Lifesaving awards (WPD) Two Mothers Against Drunk Driving Achievement Awards New Castle County Police Commendation for Bravery Jefferson Award for Public and Community Service
